Jean Perzel Art Deco Brass Cantilever Floor Lamp

Jean Perzel Art Deco Brass Cantilever Floor Lamp

£1,500.00Price

A rare and exceptional Art Deco floor lamp by Jean Perzel (1892–1986), one of the most celebrated names in 20th-century French lighting design. Perzel opened his Parisian atelier in 1923 and exhibited at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, the landmark showcase that gave the movement its name.

A substantial circular brass base rises to a hexagonal stem, with a sweeping cantilever arm and fixed lamp head, sculptural in form and practical as a reading lamp. Displayed with card shade, not original. Fitted with its original push switch. The maker's cursive signature, "J Perzel," is engraved to the brass base and clearly legible. Solid brass construction throughout gives the piece considerable weight and presence.

This is a genuinely exceptional piece, and with its original shade would command significantly more — the listed price reflects that absence.
